Meet Me

Jason D. Butler, PhD, RDT/BCT
Jason is a Registered Drama Therapist, Board Certified Trainer and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.  He is currently President of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA).  Jason holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from Concordia University as well as an MA in Drama Therapy from New York University, an MA in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix and is a graduate of the Institute for Developmental Transformations.  Jason is the Training Director for DvT Montreal, a satellite of the Institute for Developmental Transformation and he also has a Montreal-based private practice.  He is an Assistant Professor at Concordia in the Creative Arts Therapies Department and an adjunct professor at Lesley University.  Before moving to Montreal, Jason was the director of The Other Place, a psychosocial program for homelessness and mental illness in New York City.  While there he was an adjunct professor at NYU in the Drama Therapy Program and maintained a private practice. He served for four years as the Communications Chair for the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA).  Prior to becoming a drama therapist Jason taught high school theatre at Granger High School in West Valley City, Utah.
